Decent food, good prices, ready quick

Placed order on uber got every thing in the order wrong called them and them was told we order it wrong and he was right refused to redelivery in a decent time line so I went to pick up the right order in person and the first thing I got walking in the door was rude attitude and told u was wrong and after all that still screwed the order up

we ordered through Skip the Dishes yesterday to our work and the driver was VERY RUDE. he was angry, yelling and complaining that he got lost for half an hour and didn't make any money on the order. The food wasn't too bad but of course was not very warm and the sweet and sour pork was more like honey garlic ... kind of pork.. very odd. The overall experience was horrible with the delivery and it mentions on Skip the Dishes that they arrange their own deliveries so not sure what that means. Can I also say that we provided a very 'detailed" description and directions as to how to get to our location JUST IN CASE.

I get their combination dinner for one.New Ruby Restaurant has the best sweet & sour chicken balls I've ever had, they taste like almond chicken in sweet and sour sauce complete with big battered hunks of chicken.WOW!

Food was very poor quality and the meat in the beef chop suey had gone bad, had to call and let them know, thank God no one but my dad tried a piece before he notice. Food was bad and paid over $70.

Never order again soup was cold and pork was very stringy worst food ever

Went there today for lunch. Good service. Quiet with hardly anyone there. While the food was fresh and hot, it was drowned in sauce. Not sure that I will return.

been coming to this place almost 15 years. over the last 6 months or so the service has deteriorated to the point im looking at other options. tonight we were told delivery 30-45 minutes. we called back and were told a minute itll be here. well we called back 10 minutes later and the woman on the phone said it went out and has no clue. ya well i dont need cold food and told them cancel the order.

I was looking for a closer location to get chowmein from as my regular location was a bit farther and found this restaurant. I ordered sweet and sour chicken thinking it would be the normal chicken which ended up being fried with a chicken ball inside which still had bones it was absolutely disgusting which was around $13. I also ordered vegetarian chowmein with EXTRA veggies. The box for the takeout is so little, it looks like the small plastic box boston pizza gives for left over food. The chowmein itself wasn’t bad but the amount I paid for such a little amount was ridiculous and no extra veggies were added. I spent around 30$ for my takeout and it was absolutely horrible. Please save yourself the $$ and go else where, the amount you pay isn’t worth the little food you get.

Tried this place with my parents. The staff were friendly and food arrived on time. We ordered the dinner for 3, it went well. Only complaint is with the fried rice. It seemed to have a smokey almost burned flavour to it. Father liked it, mother and I didn’t.

Food serving and taste is good overall.

I ordered the vegetable suy choy which had a little bit of broccoli, ridiculous amounts of onions, and even more ridiculous amounts of celery. My mom said it’s because celery and onions are cheaper. I’m surprised it did not have a mixture of vegetables like it said on the menu. The vegetable chow mein was the same. Barely had any vegetables in it, just broccoli and tons of onions. The schezuan chicken had a weird smell, like it was old or cheap, sincerely lost my appetite. If they cheap out on vegetables, I’m sure the chicken is poor quality. I went to this place a couple years ago and I did not have any complaints. The vegetable dishes had an array of vegetables and the schezuan chicken was tasty. Reading recent reviews, it seems the management has changed which is probably why this place is no longer the same. It’s cost effective not quality dependent. I would never ever go here again to be honest.

I ordered though skip the dishes. Recieved the wrong order driver did not wait to see if order was correct. I called the restaurant was told its not their problem i ordered through skip the dishes.. the guy who answered was rude and not helpful at all!! Will never order from this place again! Horrible food $67 dollars for 2 items. Chow mein and beef and broccoli.. thanks so much!!!

Well it’s a shame, one of my favourite Chinese Resturants changed management recently and it’s just not the same. My first impression was walking into the restaurant completely dead and standing there for almost 10 minutes till the staff finally decided to come out and greet me., in which the two that came out didn’t even say sorry. Staff seem very rude. My final test was the food and sadly was very disappointed, been going there for years and now just one trip with the new look made me lose my appetite., will never eat there again.

Always good food great staff & super fast

The Szechwan Fried Rice and the Sweet and Sour Pork is especially delicious. Everything was really good and portions are great. We will have several more meals out of our dinner. The pricing of the food is good too. We ordered online and it took no time to get to us! We will be eating here again!!

Food is not like it used to be new owners are not gonna last they changed too much with ingredients in food too bad liked going there never again till a new restaurant opens there cause this one is done they ruined it

We ordered for delivery Sunday Jan. 21/18. I have severe allergies to bell peppers, especially red bell peppers. We specified no bell peppers due to allergies & what they did is send us one dish with green peppers in it and in another, they had simply removed the peppers! My allergy is severe, & my throat did start to swell after eating the dish that seemingly had no peppers in it. Really shocked that any restaurant in Canada in this day & age doesn't know better when it comes to food allergies that you cannot even contaminate the food with the allergen & then simply remove it and expect it to be fine! Btw, the receipt had "- pepper" written right on it, so, we are assuming that they did get the message that there were to be no bell peppers in the food. Whether it was the kitchen or the person who took our phone order, we don't know.

We have had take out from here a few times. The portions have always been good. The food tastes great. The staff is always friendly and kind. I would like to sit down inside to eat some time but we typically only get Chinese for take out.

Great food and fast delivery! I immediately noticed the use of fresh vegetables, and the meats were delicious. The decor is pleasant, but average; which, the staff compensate for by being friendly.

All I tried to order was Szechuan beef I must of repeated my self 7 times. It's on your menu how dont you understand. Ridiculous....

Not the same since new owners.Prices went up 2 to 3 dollars a dish on some of the vegetarian options we order.Way too pricey now was bad enough before but good food.

$100 meal order...for one, it took two and a half hours and when i finally got the food the driver couldnt even get out his car to give me my food and passed it out his window ..the food was cold and swimming in grease and unedible i had to throw it out and order new food way to ruin a mothers day meal!

Texture was tough to chew, flavour was poor and lacking, and we didn’t enjoy this food. Waste of money. The order was made quickly, so fast in fact, the sweet and sour sauce they used was still partially jelly.

The food here is usually good. worth its price anyway, fast and efficient service. didn't wait very long on our food. good size portions. nice quiet, casual restaurant. cleanliness could be better though.. like the washroom could use more attention.

My family has been eating at New Ruby for at least 10 years. Today I ordered the New Ruby Special Chicken. That is not what I received, when I called them to complain thinking I got the wrong dish, I was informed it had changed and there is nothing he could do for me. The new dish is so spicy it’s not even edible. Will not be returning, ABSOLUTELY disgusting custom service!

The ambience is decent. Fairly peaceful and quiet. Staff are pleasant and prompt. We ordered Tofu with Szechuan sauce, fried rice with black bean sauce, and mixed vegetables noodles (chopsuey). There were many choices for both vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. The portions were fairly generous sized. Food tasted good. Food was served in about 10 minutes. There was free flow of Green Tea. If you are a solo diner, there are set dinner menus priced around 13$ which gives the diner option to choose three dishes (from about a dozen options). Not sure the portion of the set dinner as we were in a group. All in all a decent dining place with tasty food. It is priced such that it won't burn a hole in your pocket. If you have a craving for Chinese food, give this restaurant a try.

Just love their food!! Quslity has dropped a little bit but their food is still amazing. Customer service could be a little better though.

Quick resonable and good food might look empty but service is good and lunch special comes with soup - ordered mic vegi chicken with rice and was happy with taste for sure worth a visit if you are near by

If I could rate this place 0 stars I most certainly would. Ordered from Skipthedishes and received the worst chinese food I've ever had. I have been a cook for 10 years and am shocked that this was served to the public.AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SICK.

I’m serious so disappointed your new management is a joke, my wife orders from you all the time and not only did a man argue with her he said he was going to replace it then he wanted to just replace the noodle wen my wife paid for it so she is currently on her way there to confront the man arguing and to make sure she gets what she paid for due to allergy reason! Really sad we used to love going with our kids. Very sad that this will deffenitly be a last for us! The customer service was a joke and horrible for talking to woman like that ! Especially a hangry one! He sent why she is on her way there, I feel for that man!

I have been eating at this restaurant since 1991.. This is my go to place !!Food is tasty and always consistent.. The service is fast and friendly..You gotta give this place a try..

Very bad food here Know use to be really good but last 2 time is be very very bad. Not coming back anymore. My mom call them and there will not replacement or refund. Do not order from them

My family and I eat here often. The food is good, staff are friendly and helpful and the service is quick. We always enjoy our experience.

First time visit. Went for lunch. Ordered from the lunch menu - fish and rice. Came with cup hot/sour soup. Soup was good. Fish came deep fried with goopy lemon sauce. Fish not so good. Service was fast and friendly. A little disappointed but I've heard better about the dinner menu. Will try again.

Poor food, poor quality. The fried rice (shrimp and chicken) were just greasy globs of over cooked rice. The shrimp was the super cheap stuff with the poop trail still there. The chicken is the SUPER cheap kind of chicken pieces that these Chinese food places sometimes use. Its like left over trimmings from the good stuff.Beef in the chop suey was like leather. Chicken chow mien, same issue as mentioned before.They guy on the phone couldn't even tell me what was in some of the dishes before ordering. simply saying, "what you don't want in it?"All of this for what I consider a premium charge for Chinese take out.NEVER AGAIN.

Great food, great service. I believe that there are 2 cooks. no cook makes food the same two ways. And the"burnt" flavour was the well seasoned wok. If you don't like that flavour, you don't know good chinese food.:-)

We have been long time customers since 1989. A couple months ago new owners took over and since then their food has not been as tasty. We ordered from them last night and my wife has allergies so we ordered specific things which none were fulfilled and when we called to complain about it they said it was our fault not theirs and furthermore they didn't even have our full order how hard can it be and to be honest they can't even cook rice properly anymore the new owner can't even speak English well so he doesn't want to even talk to people to resolve problems he hangs up on them so I recommend that you tell all your friends not to eat at this establishment anymore because it is not the same.

Worst lemon chicken I have ever had. It's mostly batter with watery sauce..

Was so yummy close to home. .Me and my man will defiantly be ordering again. Not to mention low price for amount of food and on time delivery. Good!!
